Shane Lowry may have been focused on his golf, but it was the scenes happening behind him that really caught people’s attention on Saturday afternoon.
A snap showing the Irish golfer taking a putt has been getting plenty of laughs online thanks to the brilliantly chaotic backdrop – featuring cows, a Garda and local farmers perched on a front loader with cans of cider.
The scene was shared by Rory’s Stories on Facebook alongside the caption: ‘I think this is the most Irish thing I’ve ever seen’
And it’s hard to argue.
Lowry is lining up his putt, while a couple of cows appear to be casually taking in the action in the background.
Nearby, a Garda can be seen having a chat with spectators, while local farmers have seemingly found the perfect vantage point – sitting up on a front loader and enjoying a few cans as they watch the golf.
But the cows weren’t simply there for the atmosphere.
One commenter joked that they had spotted the cows ‘heading home to be milked’, adding: ‘What a relaxed atmosphere, no heavy-handed security visible …. Only in Ireland.’
Another declared: ‘This is the best photo EVER!!! All it’s short of is Mrs. Doyle with the teapot, cups, milk and sugar on a tray!!!!’

And someone else suggested the unusual spectators may have left Trump’s security officers wondering what exactly they were supposed to do with themselves.
‘I’d say security didn’t know what to do with themselves today people all over the place a wonderful sight the only thing missing was a few lads flaking a sliotar,’ they wrote.
Then there was the small matter of Lowry’s putt.
‘Lowry got the birdy and they were cheering and swigging the cans. Gas,’ one commenter added.
As one commenter simply put it, ‘Only in Ireland…’
