“Their world feels warm and gentle”
Every love story has an origin – for RENJUN and the Moomin stories, it started small.
“My first encounter with the Moomins was through a plushie. I remember being immediately drawn to how soft and warm it felt, and I found Moomin’s round eyes and cute ears especially adorable. From there, I naturally became more interested in the Moomins, and later I watched the animation as well, which made me love the world of Moomin even more”, RENJUN tells.
Like many Moomin fans, no matter the age or background, RENJUN feels drawn to the stories because of their comfort and warmth.

“Their world feels warm and gentle, without being overly dramatic or intense. There is a sense of acceptance, kindness, and understanding between the characters.
When I watched the animation, I felt very healed by it. It’s like the stories are saying, “It’s okay,” and “You are enough as you are. That is why Moomin became more than just a cute character to me — it became something I wanted to keep close for a long time”, he shares.
On Moomin’s Day 9th August 2026, RENJUN released a Chinese EP Title Track “Echoes Between Us”, featuring a special animation inspired by Comet in Moominland.
“I treasure the Moomin plushies I have received from fans”
RENJUN still keeps many Moomin plushies at home.
“Just looking at them makes me feel relaxed, and because they are so soft and fluffy, they are perfect to hug or lean on. To me, they are more like friends that have stayed by my side rather than just plushies.
I also treasure the Moomin plushies I have received from fans. Whenever I see them, I can feel the fans’ warmth as well, so they are even more special to me.”

And who might be RENJUN’s favourite character, you wonder?
“Of course, my favourite character is Moomin (Moomintroll). I think Moomin has such a soft, warm, and round personality. He makes the people around him feel comfortable, and I really like the way he accepts others as they are. I have often thought that I would like to become someone with a warm and gentle heart like Moomin.”
