Three cygnets were safely rescued after wandering out into the road in Carrickmacross.
The animals caused concern as they repeatedly wandering onto the road and putting themselves and passing traffic at risk.
In a post on social media Gardaí noted that they are delighted to say that a local wildlife rescue has successfully caught all three cygnets.
They will be moved to a safe location where they can be cared for and kept out of danger.

Speaking to Northern Sound, Caroline Van De Burg of Dooletter Wildlife Rescue group explained what happened.
