From Culture Night to the Dublin Fringe Festival, there is plenty happening across Dublin this weekend.
Joanne Hynes: Always the Weird Girl
A celebration of 10 years of Joanne Hynes x Dunnes Stores is coming to The Atrium at Trinity College Dublin this weekend. The Galway-born designer will celebrate her story with an exhibition that looks at an edit of those 10 years through a series of vignettes exploring different aspects of Hynes’ design language told via knitwear, embellished textiles, print and recurring motifs. Open from 10-5pm on Friday and Saturday. Free to attend.
The 21st edition of Culture Night / Oíche Chultúir will take place on Friday, 18 September. Brought to you by the Arts Council, this is a national moment, celebrating culture, creativity and the arts across the country. West Meath Gothic blends aerial dance, physical theatre and live electronic music in a haunting journey through loneliness, imagination and reinvention. Directed by Katie O’Halloran, written and performed by Kate Finegan, the show will take place at the Project Arts Centre until Saturday, 19 September. Tickets €18.

Date My Mate is a two-hour event taking place in Drop Dead Twice on Saturday, 19 from 7pm – 9:30pm. Participants will have up to four minutes to pitch their friend to a room full of potential suitors. Think: green flags, red flags, fun facts, embarrassing photos (used lovingly). Creative Playground & Sober Rave
On Sunday, 20 September, Hen’s Teeth will host a sober rave with an extensive art exhibition from 4:30pm – 9:30pm. Feast your eyes and enrich your mind with a variety of live and pre-created art displays from incredible artists showcasing their unique expressions. Celebrate the autumn equinox with a modern twist on an ancient tradition, with five incredible DJs and plenty of mocktails. Tickets €27.79.
