HIQA has found residents at Cahersiveen Community Hospital enjoy a good standard of care and quality of life.
The unannounced inspection of the HSE-run South Kerry facility took place in May.
Overall, the centre was compliant with thirteen regulations and substantially compliant with two.
Nine residents spoke to the inspector, and all gave positive feedback about their care and the kindness of staff.
Visitors also said they were satisfied with the care their family members received.
HIQA found residents were well cared for, with staff described as respectful, empathetic and familiar with their needs and preferences.
Residents had good access to healthcare, including GPs, physiotherapists, dieticians and speech and language therapists.
Two regulations were rated substantially compliant.
HIQA found the external laundry was in a poor state of repair, with damaged flooring and equipment increasing the risk of cross-contamination.
The HSE said new flooring and wall covering, along with the removal of obsolete equipment, would be completed by the end of October.
Governance was also rated substantially compliant.
HIQA said required information, relating to a person participating in management, had not been submitted.
The HSE said that this documentation had now been sent to HIQA.
