Arts Hub Brockville is presenting “A Night of Charcuterie,” a fundraiser fusing food, entertainment and art, on Oct. 3 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at its Park Street location.
There are a limited number of tickets still available. Tickets are $100, which includes charcuterie, a handcrafted charcuterie board to take home, and a free drink, alcoholic or non-alcoholic. There is also a cash bar.
In addition, organizers Chris Coyea, Harold Hess, Judy Quick and Jean Boyd are hoping people will be inspired by the local talent on display to choose to buy a $50 draw ticket giving them the chance to take home an original painting.
“We have 51 pieces of original paintings donated to us by local artists. Over the course of the evening, we will sell as many $50 tickets as possible, up to 102 tickets (we’re expecting over 100 guests) giving the purchaser a 50/50 chance of taking home a piece of art valued in excess, most certainly, of 50 dollars,” said Coyea.

The 51 pieces of art will be on three walls facing the guests as they enter.
“The room will be set up with black-linen-clothed tables and table lights, giving the room an elegant evening atmosphere,” said Coyea.
The charcuterie will be presented on boards crafted by Francis Mulcahy. The servers bringing out the dinner will be young actors from the recent Youth Opportunities in the Arts production of Fame Jr.
“It’s good if people, during the first hour from six to seven, survey the paintings and set their heart on two or three choices giving them the chance to choose one of their wished-for pieces if their name is drawn,” said Coyea.
In that first hour, music will be supplied by pianist Chris Cennon and soprano Allison Hess. Both musicians are professional. Cennon, as well as his solo career, is part of Abba Experience. He was a repertoire coach with the music theatre program at St Lawrence College, until its closing.
Allison Hess is a graduate of McGill with a degree in classical music; she also attended the music theatre program at St Lawrence College. She then took a music industry management degree and is now in charge of youth programming at the Thousand Islands Playhouse.
As the evening winds down, the 51 tickets will be drawn one at a time, with the winners entitled to choose a painting.
The evening will close with a dessert table with specialty crafted pastries and tea and coffee.
