A woman charged with thefts has been told to stay out of two south Donegal supermarkets.
Anne Ward was brought before Ballyshannon District Court on foot of two bench warrants having previously failed to turn up to court.
A 62-year-old of Armada Cottages Bundoran, Ward, is charged in connection with incidents at Lidl, Bundoran on August 5, 2024 and Centra, Assaroe Road, Ballyshannon on April 13, 2026.
Ward is charged with stealing vodka, wine and other grocers valued at €46.53 from Lidl and with stealing property valued at €41.85 from Centra.
Garda Sergeant Deirdre Durcan told the court that she arrested Ward at 10.30am at Single Street, Bundoran. Ward made no reply after being cautioned.
Judge Éiteáin Cunningham asked Ward why she did not turn up for court and the accused woman replied: “I’m waiting on a hip and knee replacement. I’m very sorry. I apologise.”
Sergeant Durcan said that there was no objection to bail.
Judge Cunningham granted bail in Ward’s own bond of €200 nil cash on condition that she commit no further offences and be of good behaviour. Judge Cunningham also ordered Ward to stay out of Centra, Assaroe Road, Ballyshannon, and Lidl, Bundoran.
