Enniscorthy Community Allotments has been shortlisted for Ireland’s Greenest Community award, making it County Wexford’s only representative in this year’s Ireland’s Greenest Places competition.
Established in 2021, the one-and-a-half-acre site is used by around 250 people and 15 community organisations.
The allotments also provide a green space for international families and people of all ages and abilities.
The project promotes biodiversity and sustainable gardening through composting, rainwater conservation and chemical-free growing.
Enniscorthy Community Allotments is now one of four finalists in the Greenest Community category.
The category winners, along with the overall winner of Ireland’s Greenest Places 2026, will be announced next weekend
