Thousands of users reported a PlayStation outage on Monday afternoon, according to Down Detector, which tracks user-reported service disruptions.

Thousands of users reported an outage with Sony’s flagship gaming console, PlayStation, on Monday afternoon, as per Down Detector, a platform that tracks such outages based on users ‘reports. As of this writing, close to 9,000 users have reported an outage with PlayStation Network.

On Down Detector, more than 81% of the reports were about server issues. It corroborated posts made by users on social media, which said that they were getting a server issue after signing in with an error code: ws-11649-5.

The WS-11649-5 error on PSN typically occurs due to account sign-in issues, region mismatches, account restrictions, server problems, or corrupted system data.
