Welsh actor Ian Puleston-Davies will return to Coronation Street as Owen Armstrong after more than a decade.
The 67-year-old will reprise his role on the ITV soap as the no-nonsense builder nearly 11 years after Owen left Weatherfield following the breakdown of his relationship with Anna Windass and his business collapsing in part due to Pat Phelan.
Owen’s dramatic return to the cobbles will see him move in with his daughter Izzy and grandson Jake, making it very clear that he blames Gary Windass for his family’s misfortune.
Puleston-Davies said: “I can’t wait to pick up where I left off 10 years ago.
“It’s brilliant to be back and to get stuck into a cracking storyline. Owen’s back and he’s still angry!”
Puleston-Davies will start filming Owen’s dramatic return next week and will be back on screens in January.
Since leaving Coronation Street, Puleston-Davies has starred in a number of dramas including Pennyworth, Tin Star and After The Flood.
Coronation Street producer Kate Brooks said: “We’re thrilled that Ian is back, and Owen brings a ton of drama.
“As he joins forces with an unlikely alliance, he wreaks havoc on the Street, and his relationship with Gary is severely put to the test.
“Needless to say, there’s never a dull moment when Owen’s around.”
