Most horror fans feel Mike Flanagan can do no wrong. The creator behind the phenomenal Haunting of Hill House, as well as Doctor Sleep and The Midnight Club, has now turned his attention to a brand-new reimagining of the Stephen King classic, Carrie.
“Mike Flanagan’s take on Carrie brings the story to a modern audience, with an effective look at cyberbullying and how it goes beyond the school walls,” read Tech Radar’s review (via Rotten Tomatoes), while Entertainment Voice branded it “compulsively watchable.”

Ghosts: The Possession of Button House
Fans of the beloved BBC comedy series are in for a treat this Halloween, with a brand-new film revisiting the characters – marking the return of stars such as Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Charlotte Ritchie and Lolly Adefope – three years after the show concluded.
Ghosts: The Possession of Button House is released in UK cinemas on 23 October.

Apple TV
Widow’s Bay
One of the best shows of 2026, there’s a reason that Widow’s Bay became a breakout hit for Apple TV this year, and went on to dominate at the Emmy Awards, scooping 13 wins including a prize for Outstanding Comedy Series.
While it’s packed with laughs, Widow’s Bay integrates genres and there’s a lot for horror fans to love too, with the show even paying homage to some classics.

American Horror Story, season 13

Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen
The brilliant horror series, which premiered earlier this year, follows a bride-to-be who just can’t shake the feeling that (yep, you guessed it) something very bad is going to happen. Digital Spy’s four-star review named it a ” a worthy addition to the genre”, adding that the show delivers “something fresh and original that’s absolutely worth your time.” And what better time, than for Halloween?
