Louisa Jacobson didn’t have to look far for something to wear to the 2026 WWD Honors on Tuesday night. The evening’s Womenswear Designer of the Year, Haider Ackermann, had just sent a collection of shirtless suits down the Tom Ford runway in Paris, and the “Gilded Age” actress was more than happy to try one.

“I’m wearing Tom Ford, of course,” Jacobson told WWD on the carpet.

The ivory pinstripe suit — look 41 on the runway — featured an oversized, double-breasted jacket with sharp shoulders, peaked lapels and a plunging neckline that went all the way down to her waist. A large black flower with a long stem decorated one lapel, while the matching wide-leg trousers fell over her shoes, leaving just a bit of her metallic footwear visible.

It was one of several bare-chested tailoring looks from Ackermann’s September runway show, where the designer experimented with how much — or how little — clothing was needed underneath his suits. In her review of the collection, WWD’s Samantha Conti described the designer’s approach as “perhaps a touch more dangerous,” quoting Ackermann, who said, “There’s more nudity than I’ve ever done before. But it’s not provocative — there’s just this sense of feeling free and taking a risk.”

Jacobson has been taking a few fashion risks of her own lately, including walking the runway for Miu Miu’s spring 2027 show in Paris earlier this month.

“It was such an amazing experience to do that, I just can’t believe my luck, honestly. It was the best,” she said.

Despite making her runway debut alongside the likes of Olivia Colman, Gigi Hadid and Emma Corrin, Jacobson said she managed to keep her nerves in check — at least until the last minute.

“I was actually not nervous, I was really excited the whole time and very peaceful. And then when it came time to actually walking up the steps and I was almost out there in front of everyone, I got a bit of an adrenaline rush. But it was so fabulous,” she said. “I love working with Lotta [Volkova], she’s the best.”

And while Jacobson has been experimenting with her wardrobe, she’s also been going progressively shorter with her hair. What started as a trim to get rid of damaged ends has turned into something of a personal challenge.

“I cut a bob, just because my ends were fraying so much. And I just thought that I would cut it, and then grow it out, healthy, you know, and, honestly what happened is I cut it short and then I was like, ‘Oh god, I gotta go shorter and shorter and shorter and shorter. Soon I’m gonna have a pixie.'”

There is, however, one thing standing between Jacobson and an even shorter haircut than her current bixie style: her day job.

“The thing is, it’s a little limiting for roles, you know,” she said. “If I do a pixie, or if I get a buzz cut, I mean, which I’ve thought about before, I would have to have a big collection of wigs for all my self-tape auditions.”

The 2026 WWD Honors was held Tuesday at Cipriani South Street in New York, where LVMH’s Bernard Arnault received the John B. Fairchild Honor. Tom Ford’s Haider Ackermann and Celine’s Michael Rider were recognized for womenswear and menswear design, respectively, while G-III Apparel Group’s Morris Goldfarb received the Creative Leadership Honor and Henry Zankov was named One to Watch. The event coincided with WWD’s Apparel & Retail CEO Summit.
