A Donegal waste management and recycling company has been acquired by Panda Ireland.
DM Waste, which was based in Labbadish, Manorcunningham, was first established back in 2008.
The company has grown steadily over the last 18 years under the direction and guidance of its owner John Caulderbanks.
However, DM Waste has now been acquired by Panda Ireland, who are one of the biggest waste management companies in the country.
Panda Ireland has over 3,000 employees, and serve over 300,000 homes and businesses nationally.
The company generated €369m in 2024 according to Irish Revenue figures, and was described by KPMG as a market leader in Ireland.
Customers of DM Waste were informed of the acquisition via a letter that was issued earlier this month.
In the letter, DM Waste expressed their delight at the acquisition deal.

The letter read, “We are delighted to inform you that DM Waste has been acquired by Panda, one of Ireland’s leading waste management and recycling companies in the country.”
Typically when it comes to acquisitions there can be a bit of friction as one company absorbs another, but customers were told there would be no disruption to services.
Direct debits will also not be impacted by the acquisition.
However, customers with direct debits were told to be aware that Panda Recycling would now appear on their bank statements instead of DM Waste.
It’s not the first waste management company in Donegal that Panda Ireland has taken control of.
Ferry’s Refuse was acquired by Galway-based company WERS Waste in 2017.
In 2019, WERS Waste was acquired by Beauparc, who are the parent company of Panda Ireland.
