Mayo footballer Jack Carney has his partner, Jamie Geraghty, by his side at the All-Stars this year, and their connection goes way back!
For Mayo, it is a glittering occasion, as they continue to bask in the glory of Sam Maguire finally making its way back to the west after 75 years.
And Jamie was beaming with pride once more as Jack won his first PwC GAA/GPA Football All-Star award.

The pair smiled as they enjoyed the celebrations, with Jamie revealing they’ve known each other for around ten years after growing up in the same Mayo parish.
Chatting to EVOKE, Jamie said, ‘We’re actually from the same club, and we met in school,’ so there was a connection there from the very start.
Laughing Jack told us that while they knew each other, it took him a while to pluck up the courage to make a move.
The couple share a love for GAA, with Jamie revealing she also played for the same club as Jack, Kilmeena GAA.

These days, the couple are living in Dublin, with Jamie working as a teacher, but they still love escaping back west whenever they get the chance, mentioning how Achill was their favourite spot to head off to and relax.
However, like so many other Mayo players and their partners, the moment the whistle blew was a special time for not just the team.
Recalling the moment the whistle blew, Jamie said, ‘It was just amazing. My parents were there, and Jack’s family and we were just so proud watching him- it really was a special moment.’
