Three Donegal men have been named in Colin O’Brien’s Republic of Ireland Under-17 squad for their final friendlies before the World Cup.
Finn Harps trio Gavin McAteer, Josh Cullen and Corey Sheridan are all included in the 18-man squad, making the Ballybofey-based club the best represented side in the panel.
Ireland’s final two friendlies before their World Cup campaign next month take place in Pinatar, Spain, this weekend, as they meet Poland on Friday at 3pm and Switzerland on Monday at 11am.
That means the trio will miss Friday night’s game away to Dundalk, as well as Monday’s home game against Kerry.

Ballyshannon native Sheridan, who recently changed allegiances from Northern Ireland, will be hopeful of making the final squad for the World Cup in Qatar, along with Milford man McAteer and Cullen of Donegal Town, with the pair both well involved with the squad all year.
Ireland begin their campaign on November 5 against Panama, with further group games against Uzbekistan and Paraguay.
