Dr Clare Bailey, the widow of Dr Michael Mosley, has opened up about her regret a year after his tragic death.

The beloved TV doctor died in June 2024, after he vanished during a walk on the Greek Island of Symi. He was missing for four days before his body was discovered.

Dr Mosley died at age 67, likely due to heatstroke or a “non-identified pathological cause,” an inquest found.

In an emotional new interview, Dr Bailey has revealed she’s still struggling with coming to terms with the loss and her one regret.

“The one thing I really regret was his, was his… what are those shoes called? He wore leather shoes with a kind of high… Hiking boots?” she told The Sunday Times

“Not quite a hiking boot, but he used to wear the same boots years and years and years. And I threw those away because I kind of thought, you know, I’m on a mission. And I rather regret that.”

She also explained that even a year on she’s still having trouble processing what happened and the reality of his sudden death.

“I don’t think one can make sense of it. The shock is so profound, I don’t know how to,” she said.
