The band uploaded an emotive video to their social media, explaining that the decision has been “a difficult one,” and “might come as a surprise,” to many.

Kodaline are taking to the studio one last time, to create their fifth and final album, with band members saying that “they hope the music stays with you, long after we’re gone”.

The band, originally known as 21 Demands. changed their name to Kodaline in 2012, have been together since 2005, and have amassed over a billion Spotify streams, and have produced three Irish number one albums.

Their music has featured in popular television shows Grey’s Anatomy and The Vampire Diaries and the band headlined Electric Picnic in 2024.
