Chris Evans hit up the premiere of his film Sacrifice this weekend as part of the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, and his photos have sparked a lot of talk from Marvel fans!
For a little backstory: the 44-year-old actor, who was photographed with his co-stars at the premiere event, was not announced as one of the 27 Marvel stars returning for Avengers: Doomsday.
Fans were incredibly bummed that he seemingly would not be returning for the 2026 movie after years portraying Captain America/Steve Rogers.
However, these new photos have sparked new rumors. Why? Well…his incredibly buff body!

During his Marvel days, Chris kept up a Captain America-physique. These new photos definitely resemble Chris‘ look from those days, as his arms and chest appear like he’s been working out hard at the gym. If you look at these photos from Chris on set in 2013, you’ll see the resemblance to these 2025 photos!
There’s another detail as well.
In recent appearances, he’s been sporting a beard. Now, he’s clean shaven once again. Captain America was always clean shaven in the MCU!
Some tweets from fans have included one that read, “clean shave chris evans WELCOME BACK STEVE ROGERS OMG,” another that shared, “Chris Evans is looking buff! Could it be to play Captain America?” and another that noted, “Gee I wonder what he could be back in peak physical shape for.”
Someone else who was apparently at the premiere wrote, “Since everyone is talking about it, and as someone who was very close to him sitting in the front row, yeah, Chris Evans is back for Doomsday/Secret Wars. He was jacked in real life, like, shockingly so. People around me in the audience were gagged.”
By the way, Chris has repeatedly denied he’s participating in Doomsday.
