In many ways, the Bates family from Kilmore like to buck the trends. While we frequently hear of the struggles of the hospitality sector, they are expanding. While we hear of more and more young people seeking to leave Ireland, they’ve returned to pursue a dream. And while we often hear of sibling rivalries and family feuds, these brothers and sisters are working together to carve out their own significant slice of Wexford’s hospitality pie.
With The Trough in Wexford town and Rosslare, The Trough trailer in Drinagh The Grounds bakery and The Grounds restaurant in Kilmore Quay already in their stable, they are now getting ready to cut the ribbon on their latest venture – ‘gather – by The Grounds’.
