So it was left to Jim Chalmers to announce the government’s backflip on its $3 million superannuation changes this week. The fact Anthony Albanese wasn’t even in the country for it (on some mystery holiday) shows this was a shit sandwich made for Jim specifically. Eating it live from parliament’s blue room.
Dining out on it is Geoff Wilson. The veteran broker-cum-fund manager’s campaigning on the issue saw him in every newspaper and every other social media feed, hyperventilating about how the changes would destroy (insert industry here). Though curiously missing from the victims list were those in his own funds.
