Two students were lightly injured Wednesday morning when a pair of wild boars ran through the campus of the Assif Misgav High School, surprising students returning from the two-week High Holidays break.
Video footage from the scene shows one of the boars sprinting across the schoolyard and colliding with a student, knocking her to the ground. She suffered light scratches. Another student was also lightly hurt during the commotion.
Wild Boars charge into northern school

Officials from the Misgav Regional Council described the incident as “unusual and unexpected.” They said the boars likely entered the educational complex, which sits in the heart of the council area surrounded by forests, during the holiday break in search of food while the campus was empty.
Encounters between wild boars and humans are rare in Israel and usually occur when the animals panic or attempt to flee. Wild boars, common in northern Israel, often cause damage to gardens and infrastructure in residential areas when foraging for food.
In recent years, residents of Misgav communities have reported heavy damage caused by wild boars. The regional council has since reinforced fencing around local communities to reduce the animals’ access.
