Gardaí are investigating two assaults that took place in the county in recent days.

A teenager was assaulted in Tralee, last Friday, shortly before 5pm near the greenway bridge by the Brewery Road entrance to the Fenit/ Tralee Greenway.

The 15-year-old boy was approached by an unknown male and was struck multiple times with a belt.

He suffered a cut to his chin and crown of his head, requiring stitches.

Sergeant Lynda Brosnan is urging anyone who was in the area at the time to contact Tralee Garda Station.

Last Wednesday, 3rd of September around 11pm a man in his 30s was assaulted on Lewis Road, Killarney.

The man was walking near the pedestrian lights when a car passed him and the occupants threw a small glass bottle and hit him in the back of the Head.
