It seems Samsung is reversing course on its plans, and we won’t see any name changes in the lineup after all. Reports suggest the company will stick with the familiar Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. Meanwhile, more rumors are surfacing that Samsung may postpone the Galaxy S26 series launch event.
New rumor says Galaxy S26 series launch is delayed
According to Ice Universe on Weibo, Samsung has delayed the launch of the Galaxy S26 series. But until when? The tipster did not provide any specific details. This announcement comes just a few days after a rumor emerged suggesting that Samsung would release the Galaxy S26 series in March, which frankly did not make much sense.
Even with all things considered, Samsung will likely pull the wraps off the new phones in February. This is an educated guess rather than an official confirmation or another rumor. February seems to be a convenient middle ground. Given that Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 series on January 22 earlier this year, a delay of just a week or so would not make a significant difference.
Additional reports suggest that Samsung will equip the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ with the Exynos 2600 chipset, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The Exynos 2600 will be made using 2nm process, while the latter will have 3nm process.
Many details about the Galaxy S26 series remain under wraps. And we’ll likely learn more about the rumored features as the launch date approaches. What is certain is that Samsung’s new phones will run One UI 8.5, the company’s next major software update. Samsung may also open a beta program for this update as early as next month.
