(Pic: Drone Solutions Ireland) Cork is on track to reclaim the title of having Ireland’s tallest residential building as the main core of the 25-storey Railyard development, which now stands at over 85.5m, was completed on Saturday, March 28th. Specialist contractor Slipform UK commenced pouring the lift and stair core on Wednesday, March 18th. Over 1,700 cubic meters of concrete was poured continuously and tied over 225 tonnes of reinforcing steel. The team worked 24/7 over 10 days to reach full height. The contractor averaged 2 and a half floors per day with a crew of 30 specialist workers on each 12-hour shift. ON SCHEDULE Dan Sheehan, Contracts Manager with main contractor PJ Hegarty, commended the rapid progress. “We are very pleased to have completed this important phase of the project safely and on schedule, which was the result of months of planning and collaboration across the project team.
