{"id":101138,"date":"2025-10-24T09:13:06","date_gmt":"2025-10-24T09:13:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/101138\/"},"modified":"2025-10-24T09:13:06","modified_gmt":"2025-10-24T09:13:06","slug":"irish-woman-dies-after-becoming-unwell-while-on-holiday-in-us","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/101138\/","title":{"rendered":"Irish woman dies after becoming unwell while on holiday in US"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An Irish woman who became suddenly unwell while holidaying in the US has died in hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Seodhna Deasy from Cork is understood to have been visiting the US capital of Washington DC, last week when she became seriously ill.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Deasy, was rushed to a nearby hospital where she remained in a serious condition for a number of days, but she died earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said they are \u201caware of the case&#8221; and that they are \u201cproviding consular assistance&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Department does not comment on the details of individual cases,\u201d the spokesperson added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"An Irish woman who became suddenly unwell while holidaying in the US has died in hospital.
