After each guess, the game gives feedback to help you get closer to the answer:

Green: The letter is in the word and in the correct spot.Yellow: The letter is in the word, but in the wrong spot.Gray: The letter is not in the word at all.

Use these clues to narrow down your guesses. Every day brings a new word, and everyone around the world is trying to solve the same puzzle. Some Wordlers also play Competitive Wordle against friends, family, the Wordle Bot or even against me, your humble narrator. See rules for Competitive Wordle toward the end of this post.

Today’s Wordle Hints And AnswerWordle Bot’s Starting Word: SLATEMy Starting Word Today: SLOPE (149 words remaining)The Hint: Measures things. The Clue: This Wordle has a double letter.

Okay, spoilers below! The answer is coming!

.

.

.

The Answer:

Today’s Wordle

Screenshot: Erik KainWordle Bot Analysis

Today’s Wordle Bot

Screenshot: Erik Kain

Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordle score with Wordle Bot right here.

SLOPE wasn’t a terrible guess but wasn’t particularly good, either. 149 words remained, though at least I had one green box. CHAIN slashed that number down to just 10.

I was thinking about The Boys today and Queen Mauve, so I guessed that for my third guess. At this point, it was a coin-toss. I went with GAUGE over GAUZE since I vaguely remember having that as a Wordle before. Lucky me, that was the the correct answer. Huzzah!

Competitive Wordle Score

Today’s Wordle Bot

Screenshot: Erik Kain

A wash today. 0 points for me and the Bot thanks to tying at four guesses each. Enjoy!Today’s Wordle Etymology

The word gauge comes from Middle English gauge or gawge, borrowed from Old French jauge, meaning “a measuring rod” or “standard of measure.” The French term likely originated from Frankish or Old Low German roots related to galga (“rod, pole, measure”), which is also the ancestor of the English word gallows.

Be sure to follow me for all your daily puzzle-solving guides, TV show and movie reviews and more here on this blog!

How to solve today’s Wordle.
