Coronation Street<\/a> star Ryan Mulvey has responded to fans’ concerns after he referred to himself as an “unemployed actor” in a recent TikTok video. Is his character on the soap, Brody Michaelis, set for an exit already?<\/p>\n

The actor has only been in the role<\/a> for eight months, after previously appearing in Hollyoaks as part of its sibling sexual abuse storyline<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This week, he posted a short video of himself<\/a> with a voiceover that began: “A day in the life of an unemployed actor.”<\/p>\n

This sparked concern in the comments, with one person saying: “Unemployed??? Please tell me Brody hasn’t left!”<\/p>\n

Sharing a follow-up clip<\/a>, the actor clarified that Brody isn’t going anywhere just yet \u2013 but he might be on screen a bit less in the immediate future.<\/p>\n

“Quickly wanna address also, I’m still at Coronation Street,” he said. “As all actors know, you go through really busy and really quiet periods. I’m just in a quiet period, in between storylines and whatnot. <\/p>\n

“I’m not filming until, like, the New Year. But as soap actors, that’s kind of what you do. You just go from really busy to really quiet.”<\/p>\n

He added: “I’m just doing… these videos to basically fill my time and make a bit of fun content for you guys to enjoy.”<\/p>\n

Just last month, Brody was involved in a dramatic crash storyline<\/a>, after he and Dylan Wilson stole cars for Carl Webster.<\/p>\n

“That’s been so much fun. Just firstly filming it \u2013 you get to go on location and drive quite a posh car, which is fun,” he told Soap Scoop.<\/p>\n

“And then doing it with someone who’s similar in age \u2013 like with Liam [McCheyne, who plays Dylan] and you’re on set driving a Porsche. So that was absolutely brilliant!”<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, Ryan’s co-star Vicky Myers, who plays Lisa Swain, was confirmed as the first person from the soap to be involved in the upcoming Corriedale special<\/a>, a crossover between Coronation Street and Emmerdale.<\/p>\n

Aaron Dingle star Danny Miller, meanwhile, was confirmed as the latter show’s first participant.<\/p>\n

“To be involved in this unique, bold, innovative, not to mention history-making episode, in Coronation Street’s 65th year, (well, when we are filming it at least), is fantastic,” Myers said in a statement.<\/p>\n

“When I read the script and found out how two worlds collide, who is involved and how the characters interact, not to mention the impact the events of the night will have\u2026 Wow. It’s going to be unmissable.”<\/p>\n

She added: “I couldn’t wait to get started actually. This has been in the pipeline for quite some time and the talented team behind the scenes at Coronation Street and Emmerdale, has worked tirelessly to make this happen. They’re incredible.<\/p>\n

“I’m really looking forward to meeting, and working with, people I haven’t met or worked with before, both in front of and behind the camera. It’s incredibly exciting and the camaraderie is great. It’s going to be epic.”<\/p>\n

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX<\/a>.<\/p>\n
