The romantic drama, co-starring <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/sonam-bajwa\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" commonstate=\"[object Object]\" frmappuse=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sonam Bajwa<\/a>, released alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/ayushmann-khurrana\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" commonstate=\"[object Object]\" frmappuse=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ayushmann Khurrana<\/a> and Rashmika Mandanna\u2019s &#8216;Thamma&#8217;, yet it\u2019s managing to hold its ground at the box office.Even with fewer screens and a smaller budget, &#8216;Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat&#8217; has surprised many in the trade. The film opened with around \u20b99 crore on Tuesday, which is similar to the opening of &#8216;Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari&#8217;. Considering &#8216;Thamma&#8217; got nearly three times more screens, this is a strong start.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat&#8217; Becomes Box Office Hit &#8211; But Gets Criticized For Toxicity<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, the film collected \u20b97.5 crore, taking the two-day total to \u20b916.5 crore. Thursday brought in \u20b96 crore, Friday \u20b95.5 crore, and Saturday \u20b95.75 crore, pushing the total to about \u20b934 crore according to Sacnilk. The performance is especially impressive in East Punjab and West Bengal, where romantic dramas usually don\u2019t perform this well, as reported by Box Office India.While the Diwali holidays gave the film an initial boost, its steady numbers suggest that audiences are genuinely enjoying it. Positive word of mouth is growing, and if the trend continues, &#8216;Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat&#8217; could get more shows in the coming days.If it maintains this pace, the film might become Harshvardhan Rane\u2019s highest solo hit, even surpassing &#8216;Sanam Teri Kasam&#8217;, which gained popularity much later. Meanwhile, Thamma crossed \u20b950 crore in just three days. The film from the horror comedy universe saw good growth on Saturday and made Rs 13 crore. It is now inching towards Rs 80 crore. Despite this strong competition, &#8216;Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat&#8217; is maintaining its hold at the box office.
