The new site, located at Beersheba\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesofisrael.com\/with-growing-tech-and-idf-campus-on-its-way-beersheba-readies-for-a-golden-age\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Gav Yam high-tech park<\/a>, covers about 3,000 sqm and is expected to be fully operational by the end of the first half of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the expansion, Nvidia is seeking to hire hundreds of additional employees in the southern region, including chip developers, hardware and software engineers, architects, students, and university graduates.<\/p>\n<p>Nvidia senior vice president Amit Krig said that the firm\u2019s expansion in Beersheba reflects the chipmaker\u2019s commitment to hunting for the \u201cbest engineers \u2014 wherever they are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe new site will serve as a professional home for hundreds of additional developers from Beersheba and the surrounding area, who will be part of creating groundbreaking hardware and software technologies and advancing global innovation in artificial intelligence,\u201d said Krig, who heads Nvidia\u2019s R&amp;D operations in Israel.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\tSign up for the Tech Israel Daily<br \/>\n\t\t\tand never miss Israel&#8217;s top tech stories\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\tBy signing up, you agree to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesofisrael.com\/terms\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">terms<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Nvidia\u2019s R&amp;D activities in Israel are already the firm\u2019s largest outside of the US. The computing giant, valued at more than $4.5 trillion on Wall Street, is one of the country\u2019s largest employers with over 5,000 workers in Israel in seven R&amp;D centers, from Yokne\u2019am in the north through Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Ra\u2019anana in the center of the country to Beersheba in the south.<\/p>\n<p>\t<a href=\"https:\/\/static-cdn.toi-media.com\/www\/uploads\/2025\/10\/NV-Site-Beer-Sheva-2.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-3673995\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/NV-Site-Beer-Sheva-2-640x400.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"375\"\/><\/a><br \/>\n\t\tIllustration of Nvidia\u2019s new R&amp;D center located in the southern city of Beersheba. As global tech firms including Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet, and Tesla race to build AI data centers and dominate the emerging technology, demand for Nvidia\u2019s most advanced processors is surging.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe establishment of Nvidia\u2019s new site tripling its operations in the city is important news for Beersheba and the Negev,\u201d\u00a0said Beersheba Mayor Ruvik Danilovich. \u201cThe decision expresses confidence in Beersheba\u2019s ecosystem, and will create hundreds of new jobs that will strengthen the city\u2019s human capital and cement its position as a leading innovation center.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\t<a href=\"https:\/\/static-cdn.toi-media.com\/www\/uploads\/2025\/01\/NVIDIA_Yokneam_SIte.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-3460051\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/NVIDIA_Yokneam_SIte-640x400.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"375\"\/><\/a><br \/>\n\t\tUS chipmaker Nvidia\u2019s offices in Yokne\u2019am in Israel\u2019s north. (Courtesy)<\/p>\n<p>In recent years, Beersheba\u2019s Gav Yam high-tech center, adjacent to Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, has grown into a thriving hub of R&amp;D facilities for leading tech companies, including Microsoft, Dell, Wix, and defense contractors Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and Elbit Systems.<\/p>\n<p>Nvidia\u2019s expansion in the south comes after the chipmaker announced a plan in July to build a massive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesofisrael.com\/nvidia-plans-to-boost-presence-in-israel-with-massive-tech-campus-in-north\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">multibillion-dollar tech campus<\/a> in Israel\u2019s north, which is expected to provide thousands of jobs. The computing juggernaut is seeking a plot of land spanning 70 to 120 dunams (30 acres) with construction rights to build a campus of 80,000\u2013180,000 sqm in the area of Zichron Yaakov, Haifa, or the Jezreel Valley.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside its R&amp;D operations, Nvidia has made a number of mega acquisitions deals in Israel over the past decade. In December 2024, the chipmaker completed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesofisrael.com\/us-chip-giant-nvidia-snaps-up-israeli-ai-workload-management-startup\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">purchase<\/a> of Israeli AI workload management startup Run:ai for an estimated $700 million.
