Titled \u201cArticulated Floors,\u201d the exhibit takes the concept to another level, scaling the design to monumental proportions.<\/p>\n First designed in 1966, La D\u00e9clive is an articulated seating structure made up of cushioned bars, allowing the user to adjust and reconfigure as needed. According the Paulin, Paulin, Paulin, the radical approach embraced his ultimate ideal: \u201cto eliminate traditional furniture in favor of a shifting, inhabitable floor.\u201d<\/p>\n Unlike traditional furniture, which is supported by the floor, La D\u00e9clive proposes the floor as furniture in itself.
