At the launch of her latest film Christy, Sydney Sweeney<\/a> disclosed that she is nearing the end of filming Euphoria<\/a> Season 3 this week. The actress is once again taking on the character of Cassie Howard<\/a> in the HBO series, with the storyline for the third season kept secret until its debut in spring 2026. Sydney also expressed how touching it was to be back on set without co-star Angus Cloud<\/a> present. <\/p>\n Sydney Sweeney remembers late co-star Angus Cloud<\/p>\n The cast and crew were heartbroken following Angus Cloud’s passing due to a drug overdose in July 2023; he was just 25 years old. In a recent interview with Variety, Sydney reflected on the challenges of returning to the set in his absence and discussed how the cast coped with his loss. <\/p>\n She remarked, “It was certainly a very emotional moment to return to a set and not have him there with you. He was an incredibly special individual, and his life was cut short far too soon.”<\/p>\n The actress continued, \u201cI\u2019m grateful I was at home surrounded by my family. My first call was to Maude, followed by Jacob [Elordi], and we were all just in tears on the phone together. It\u2019s not the kind of situation you wish would bring people together, but I\u2019m thankful to have my castmates to share and process everything with.\u201d<\/p>\n At the AFI Fest premiere of her wrestling biopic Christy, Sydney also mentioned that her role in Euphoria is wrapping up this week. She noted, “I finish Euphoria in two days. It\u2019s mostly the same team, so it feels like I\u2019m returning to family. I\u2019ve grown up alongside them. I was 20 when I filmed the pilot, so seeing many of the same faces is very reassuring.”<\/p>\n
