Prince William<\/a>\u2019s aunt, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, has been in hospital following a \u2018very bad fall\u2019, her brother, Earl Spencer<\/a>, has revealed. Lady Sarah, 70, was horse riding at the time of the accident and has been something of a \u2018handful\u2019 during her time in hospital, Charles Spencer told Gyles Brandreth on the Rosebud podcast.<\/p>\n \u2018Sarah, who is nearly a decade older than me, who was always in trouble, she’s quite punchy,\u2019 he said of his sister, Princess Diana<\/a>\u2019s older sister who once dated the then-Prince Charles<\/a>. \u2018She’s still riding, and she’s had a really bad fall in the last month and has been in hospital for a long time,\u2019 he added, though Spencer would not be drawn on the nature of Lady Sarah\u2019s injuries.<\/p>\n \u2018She’s still riding, and she’s had a really bad fall in the last month and has been in hospital for a long time,\u2019 Charles Spencer told Gyles Brandreth<\/p>\n WPA Pool\/Getty Images<\/p>\n Fortunately, it seems that the Prince of Wales<\/a>\u2019 aunt is in high spirits despite her fall, with Earl Spencer joking that she had been a \u2018handful\u2019 for her doctors to deal with. \u2018I think, [she] was quite a handful as a patient, because the said doctor said to my brother-in-law, \u201cShe\u2019s quite a character isn\u2019t she?\u201d which I think is code for, \u201cCould you take her home?\u201d\u2019, he revealed, referring to Lady Sarah\u2019s husband, Neil McCorquodale.<\/p>\n Like the rest of the Spencer clan, Lady Sarah McCorquodale has long been a source of great comfort and support for Prince William, as well as for Prince Harry<\/a> in the wake of his feud with the Windsors. Last September, she supported the Prince of Wales during a visit to his old RAF training ground in Cranwell, Lincolnshire<\/a>. Lady Sarah had reportedly heard that her nephew was in the area and was keen to show her \u2018support\u2019 for William, said MailOnline’s Rebecca English.
