A mysterious, bright light in the sky has left people across Ireland baffled tonight and sparked UFO speculation<\/a> from all across the country.<\/p>\n The unusual sighting began after 6pm, with eyewitnesses describing it as “like a big object with light in front but no noise and moving very quickly”.<\/p>\n Alan O’Reilly of Carlow Weather<\/a> said he was inundated with messages as reports flooded in from all corners of the country.<\/p>\n He told his followers: “So I don’t know what that light in the sky was that I’ve shared. My notifications have never lit up like they have just now. There’s reports from the south, right through the midlands, up to the west, east. It was spotted all over Ireland.<\/p>\n “People captured videos and pictures of it – a bright light, no sound, moving at or below cloud level. A few people have asked is it the Starlink launch. No it doesn’t fit that.”<\/p>\n Alan admitted that at first, he had no idea what the object could be, continuing: “Nothing showed on FlightRadar for people that were tracking it either. So at the moment it is a UFO which just means that it’s unidentified. If it is the aliens<\/a>, I say hello! Hope you like weather.”<\/p>\n Content cannot be displayed without consent<\/p>\n However, the mystery has since been solved. According to the latest information, the strange light was almost certainly caused by the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket<\/a> dumping fuel in orbit following its launch in Florida <\/a>earlier today.<\/p>\n Weather <\/a>expert Alan clarified: “The light in the sky tonight most likely to be the Falcon 9 dumping fuel in orbit based on latest information.
