When you buy the $799 Meta Ray-Ban Display, you aren\u2019t just getting a pair of smart glasses: you\u2019re also getting Meta\u2019s Neural Band, a small wristband that you use to control what\u2019s on the glasses\u2019 display. It\u2019s an essential part of the product.<\/p>\n
But, if by some unfortunate circumstance, you need to buy a replacement for the wristband, it\u2019s been unclear how you would do that. The wristband isn\u2019t listed for sale online. One buyer told The Verge that Meta\u2019s customer service said it wasn\u2019t possible to purchase a replacement. That led us to reach out to Meta just to make sure \u2014 it was hard to believe that the only solution to a lost Neural Band would be buying an entirely new pair of the smart glasses.<\/p>\n
It turns out that Meta actually will let you buy a new Neural Band if you contact customer service, but it\u2019ll cost $199, making for a pretty expensive replacement. Only customers who have already purchased the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses and need a band replacement that\u2019s outside of Meta\u2019s limited warranty policy<\/a> will be able to buy the wristband on its own, according to Meta\u2019s Tyler Yee.
