It was a classic live TV moment on Ireland<\/a> AM as one of the show’s presenters was caught completely off guard during a weather report, leaving viewers and colleagues “howling” with laughter.<\/p>\n

Broadcasting live from Drogheda, Co Louth on Thursday, Ireland AM forecaster Deric Hartigan missed his cue to go on air and was overheard chatting in the background before a panicked gasp signalled the realisation that he was supposed to be live.<\/p>\n

The presenter quickly sprinted into shot, fixed his earpiece, and launched straight into the forecast with an impressively smooth recovery, before joking at the end: “That is live TV!”<\/p>\n

Back in the studio, co-hosts Muireann O’Connell, Alan Hughes, and Tommy Bowe couldn’t resist poking fun, pretending to miss their own cue as they burst into laughter.<\/p>\n

“It’s the panic in his face there,” Tommy joked, while Alan added, “I was just wondering what he was saying beforehand.”<\/p>\n

Social media lit up after the clip was shared on Ireland AM’s pages, with fans and fellow broadcasters all joining in the fun.<\/p>\n

Deric himself commented: “Jaysus.”<\/p>\n

One viewer wrote: “We’ve all been there Deric, unfortunately for you everyone can see. Brilliant!!”<\/p>\n

Eurovision singer Brooke Scullion added: “Saved like a pro @deric_tv.”<\/p>\n

RT\u00c9’s Sarah McInerney praised: “The pure professionalism when you skidded into vision though.”<\/p>\n

Another fan summed it up perfectly: “Seen this live I was howling. He recovered well.”<\/p>\n

It’s not the first time Ireland AM has delivered an on-air moment for the ages, but this latest slip-up might just be one of its most relatable yet.<\/p>\n
