\n\tWhile the cast of Sam Mendes\u2019 The Beatles<\/a> \u2014 A Four-Film Cinematic Event has been speculated on for quite some time now, Sony now has closed deals for four cast members: Mia McKenna-Bruce<\/a> (How to Have Sex), Saoirse Ronan<\/a> (Little Women), Anna Sawai<\/a> (Sh\u014dgun), and Aimee Lou Wood<\/a> (The White Lotus).<\/p>\n

\n\tMcKenna-Bruce will play Ringo Starr\u2019s first wife<\/a>, Maureen (Cox) Starkey, with Ronan as Paul McCartney\u2019s first wife, Linda (Eastman) McCartney. We were first to report on the latter.<\/a> Sawai is confirmed for the role of John Lennon\u2019s wife, Yoko Ono, with Wood set to play George Harrison\u2019s first wife, Pattie Boyd.<\/p>\n

\n\tCox was an early fan of The Beatles who met Starr at the Cavern Club in 1962. Their romance blossomed quickly; they married in 1965 and had three children together.<\/p>\n

\n\tEastman was a celebrated photographer when she met McCartney in 1967. There was an instant attraction, and McCartney later said, \u201cThe first time I saw her, I just knew.\u201d They went on to form Wings with Denny Laine<\/a> after the Beatles split.<\/p>\n

\n\tLennon first met the Japanese artist Ono at a London exhibition of her work. Although he was married at the time, Lennon immediately was intrigued by Ono, and the two eventually became inseparable creative partners for the rest of his life.<\/p>\n

\n\tBoyd was a successful model when, in 1964, she met Harrison on the set of the Beatles movie A Hard Day\u2019s Night. The two began dating and later married, with Boyd sharing Harrison\u2019s growing interest in Eastern mysticism.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMaureen, Linda, Yoko and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right,\u201d said Mendes. \u201cAnd I\u2019m thrilled that we\u2019ve managed to persuade four of the most talented women working in film today to join this amazing adventure.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAs previously announced, The Beatles \u2014 A Four-Film Cinematic Event<\/a> will star Paul Mescal as McCartney, Barry Keoghan as Starr<\/a>, Joseph Quinn as Harrison, and Harris Dickinson as Lennon<\/a>, with each film telling the story of a different member of the band.<\/p>\n

\n\tWe were first to report on the Beatles films from Mendes, all of which will be released in theaters in April 2028<\/a>. Mendes will direct from scripts written by Jez Butterworth, Peter Straughan and Jack Thorne, as we told you first<\/a>, though it\u2019s unclear which projects each is tackling. A collaboration between Sony Pictures Entertainment and Mendes\u2019 Neal Street Productions, the films will be produced by Mendes, Pippa Harris and Julie Pastor of Neal Street, as well as Alexandra Derbyshire, in association with Apple Corps for Sony Pictures.<\/p>\n

\n\tThis marks the first time that The Beatles and Apple Corps Ltd. have authorized the use of the band members\u2019 life stories and music in scripted films. In addition to distributing, Sony Pictures is the financier of the projects.<\/p>\n

\n\tBreaking out with 2023\u2019s How to Have Sex, which won the Un Certain Regard Award at Cannes<\/a>, McKenna-Bruce won the BAFTA Rising Star Award and the British Independent Film Award for her work there. She is repped by 42 Management, UTA, Luber Roklin, and Jackoway Austen.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe second-youngest person to accrue four Academy Award nominations, Ronan is known for such films as Little Women and Lady Bird from Greta Gerwig, Atonement and Brooklyn. She is repped by CAA.<\/p>\n

\n\tSawai broke out with her work in FX\u2019s Sh\u014dgun, receiving an Emmy<\/a> and Golden Globe<\/a> for her performance. She is repped by WME, 42, United Agents and Chris Abramson.<\/p>\n

\n\tWood was widely praised for her performance in the third season of The White Lotus, for which she received an Emmy nomination<\/a>, prior to that breaking out as part of the series Sex Education, for which she won the BAFTA TV Award<\/a> for Best Female Comedy Performance.
