Spanning 135 square meters of space, the office reflects the studio’s commitment to spatial clarity, functional zoning and to stimulate creative thought for drawing, storyboarding and editing content.

The project faced challenging conditions, specifically occupying a tenant floor that was long, narrow, and had a very low ceiling height of approximately 2,200 mm with openings only on one side. To counter the cramped sensation and visual constraints, the architects adopted a core concept: turning these physical limitations into a creative asset. The interior design balances minimalism with playful accents, echoing the imaginative spirit of the publishing house.

Neutral tones and clean lines dominate the space, while curated furnishings and subtle textures add warmth and personality. Strategic use of partitions and varied ceiling heights delineate areas without compromising visual flow. The result is a workspace that feels cohesive yet adaptable — ideal for a company whose output spans digital storytelling and visual media. This thematic integration extends directly to the furniture and material details. In the waiting area, seating inspired by the iconic LC2 chair was used, but the upholstery was crafted from discarded weekly magazines (like Weekly Shonen Jump). Skilled craftsmen hand-wrapped the upholstery piping with the covers of the magazines, a detail that embeds the company’s specific aesthetic worldview into the environment and celebrates the essential act of hand-drawing that is fundamental to manga creation.

Summary GAMMA Architects designed Shueisha TOON FACTORY Phase 2 as a flexible, light-filled creative workspace The 135-square-meter office…

[31
307,304,305,306,308,93,61,60
0":"post-116867","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-arts-and-design","8":"tag-arts","9":"tag-arts-and-design","10":"tag-artsanddesign","11":"tag-artsdesign","12":"tag-design","13":"tag-entertainment","14":"tag-ie","15":"tag-ireland
["GET
