Jackson Wang is known for his sincere dedication to his fanbase, a trait that was recently highlighted during his visit to Manila.<\/p>\n
This appreciation for his fans was reaffirmed in a brief conversation with media representatives from PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and the Manila Bulletin.<\/p>\n
He sat down with select members of the press on October 30, 2025, to promote his highly anticipated MAGIC MAN 2 concert, which is set to take place at the Araneta Coliseum.<\/p>\n
Having been asked about the MAGIC MAN album and tour for a significant portion of the day, Jackson told PEP and Manila Bulletin that he was hoping for a new topic of discussion.<\/p>\n
In response to the request, PEP asked Jackson about his lesser-known hobbies and the non-performance activities he enjoys but rarely talks about publicly.<\/p>\n
Jackson opened up about a few things that had recently piqued his interest\u2014though he jokingly questioned whether they truly qualified as \u201chobbies.\u201d<\/p>\n

“I\u2019ve been trying to eat three or four egg whites every day,” he said earnestly, before pausing and laughing. “Oh, sh**, that\u2019s not a hobby.”<\/p>\n
After thinking it over, he added, “When I shower, I watch videos. Like, I\u2019ll put on a podcast or a show I like. I just set it up, and while I shower, I listen and watch.”<\/p>\n
One thing Jackson genuinely enjoys is exploring the nightlife of whatever city he\u2019s visiting.<\/p>\n
While K-pop stars are sometimes criticized for this, Jackson was quick to clarify that he sees nothing wrong with immersing himself in the local scene and simply enjoying what the city has to offer.<\/p>\n
Elaborating: “I think whatever that I enjoy, my fans already know, you know. I never hide when I vape, when I smoke. You know, I never hide when I drink.<\/p>\n
“I never hide, when I go to clubs, when I party. I never hide ’cause there’s nothing wrong with that, you know.<\/p>\n

Jackson put his words into action later that night by fully enjoying the local Halloween scene.<\/p>\n
Anne Curtis showed him around, and they were spotted at multiple venues. They attended parties at bars in Bonifacio Global City and were also seen at Tim Yap’s Shake Rattle and Ball event.<\/p>\n

For Jackson, showing this personal side is a way to showcase his authenticity to his fans, whom he treats like family.<\/p>\n
He said, “I make sure that I show all sides of myself to my fans because fans always show love and support to artist.<\/p>\n
“So for me as an artist, I wanna… Like as a family, I think it has to go both ways, you know. And in return, I wanna make sure that I show them who I am, you know, and what I do.”<\/p>\n

But how does he react when his fans become overly excited?<\/p>\n
Jackson answered: “Too excited is okay. I have some fans that’s…<\/p>\n
“I mean, any kinda way [they show their support], I appreciate it, you know, ‘Cause it’s always from love, you know.<\/p>\n
“So, I appreciate it and I make sure that I let them know.”<\/p>\n
While his usual response is one of gratitude and connection, Jackson admitted that when they get too emotional, he does worry sometimes.<\/p>\n
He said, “Sometimes it could get very emotional, you know. So that… in those times I worry, you know.”<\/p>\n
At that moment, Manila Bulletin asked Jackson what song he would dedicate to his fans.<\/p>\n
Without missing a beat, he smiled and answered Black Eyed Peas’ “Where Is The Love.”<\/p>\n
Explaining his choice, he said, “I think that is like one of the few songs why I started dancing as a kid.<\/p>\n
Jackson continued, “Simple. ‘Cause it’s simple. Music used to be simple.”<\/p>\n

With Jackson having explored so many creative avenues already, PEP asked if there were still things he\u2019d like to try.<\/p>\n
\u201cBe fluent in Tagalog,\u201d he answered with a grin.<\/p>\n
And that might not be too far off. Known as a polyglot, Jackson already speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, Shanghainese, Korean, and English fluently. He\u2019s currently learning Japanese and even dabbling in French.<\/p>\n
Has he brushed up on Filipino?<\/p>\n
Jackson recalled one word that stuck with him from childhood: \u201cI just know, as a kid, I had a very good Filipino friend in school who taught me \u2018pangit.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
He laughed, \u201cMaybe that\u2019s my new name\u2014Pangit.\u201d<\/p>\n
Later in the interview, another thoughtful question was raised: What message would he give to his younger self?<\/p>\n
Jackson said, “I’m just gonna tell him, little Jackson, life sucks if you want to think it sucks. But life could be beautiful if you think it could be beautiful.<\/p>\n

“It’s all in your head, you know. So make every decision and… don’t doubt. Make every decision and live with it. Don’t complain ’cause you, you chose, you know.<\/p>\n

To end the interview, Jackson left a message to his fans: “I hope I can see you in the concert. And I hope you can take away also the message that I’m trying to share with you guys about life.<\/p>\n
“And I hope that message can also encourage you in your darkest times, darkest moments in your life as well.<\/p>\n
“More than the performance, I hope you can take away that.”<\/p>\n
