Pete Davidson<\/a> has been continuing to remove his large number of tattoos<\/a>, but there are some that he\u2019s decided to leave.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight in an interview published Friday, the Saturday Night Live alum<\/a> said that out of over 200 tattoos he has, the ones dedicated to his family are the ones that are not budging.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got all these tattoos, so my mom was like, \u2018How come you\u2019ve never gotten a Mom tattoo?\u2019\u201d the 31-year-old comedian said. \u201cNow I have a tattoo that just says \u2018MOMTATTOO.\u2019 That one has to stay.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davidson noted his decision to keep his tattoos inspired by The Sopranos and one dedicated to his father, Scott Matthew Davidson, a firefighter who was killed at the World Trade Center during the September 11 attacks in 2001.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have my dad\u2019s ID [number] and that\u2019s pretty much it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The comedian has previously talked about his tattoo removal process, which began in 2020 when he concluded that they took too long to cover up on sets.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show in February, he said the tattoos were \u201calmost gone,\u201d <\/a>prompting Fallon to ask about what the pain of the removal process feels like.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s horrible,\u201d Davidson said. \u201cIt’s worse [than getting a tattoo]. They gotta burn off a layer of your skin, and then it has to heal for six to eight weeks and you can’t get in the sunlight. And then you gotta do it like 12 more times. So really think about that Game of Thrones tattoo.\u201d<\/p>\n

He estimated that he likely had around 200 tattoos before starting to remove them, as he reflected on his mindset behind getting so many.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was a sad boy. It was a weird time. I don’t know, everybody was getting tattoos like five years ago,\u201d he said. \u201cPost Malone was like \u2018Always Tired,\u2019 and I was like, \u2018Me too dude, I’m exhausted.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

A few months later, in April, Davidson revealed in an interview with Variety that he had spent $200,000 on getting his tattoos removed<\/a>, but was only \u201c30 percent\u201d through the process.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a pretty uncomfortable amount of money to disclose, but I think one of the tabloids already leaked it. I\u2019ve already spent like 200k and I\u2019m like 30 percent done. So, like, it\u2019s gonna suck,\u201d he told the publication. \u201cNow that I\u2019ve said [the tattoo remover\u2019s] name, though, he\u2019s a little nicer, for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cMy arms are pretty much gone, and my hands and neck are gone.
