England legend Sir David Beckham will be among those who accept honours on Tuesday as he receives a knighthood at Windsor Castle.<\/p>\n

The former Real Madrid and Manchester United star will be receiving the knighthood for his services to sport and charity. <\/p>\n

The 50-year-old from north-east London made his Premier League debut for the Red Devils in 1995 and scored 85 goals for United throughout his time in Manchester.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Sir David said he was \u201cimmensely proud\u201d of being recognised in the King\u2019s Birthday Honours. <\/p>\n

He won six Premier League titles with Manchester United, two FA Cups, and a dramatic Champions League victory in 1999, which saw them defeat Bayern Munich with two late goals in the final.<\/p>\n

Alongside his stellar career, he has supported a variety of charitable causes, including serving as a goodwill ambassador for Unicef since 2005.<\/p>\n

He has also become known for his clothing styles, being named GQ magazine’s most stylish man in 1998, and has modelled for H&M, Armani, and Boss. <\/p>\n

Beckham described himself as a \u201chuge royalist\u201d and was named for the King\u2019s Foundation, an educational charity established by the King in 1990.<\/p>\n

He will be joined by others on Tuesday, including Nobel Prize-winning novelist Sir Kazuo Ishiguro and West End performer Dame Elaine Page. <\/p>\n

Dame Elaine, awarded a damehood for services to music and charity, shot to fame as she starred in Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber\u2019s hit musical, Evita.<\/p>\n

The show debuted in 1978, and in that year she won the Olivier Award for performance of the year in a musical.<\/p>\n

She also had starring roles in Cats, Chess, Piaf, and Sunset Boulevard, and has most recently been seen performing in pantomimes at The London Palladium. <\/p>\n

Outside of her theatre work, she has supported a number of charities, including The Children\u2019s Trust, the Royal Voluntary Service, and Dan Maskell Tennis Trust, where she has been president since 2010.<\/p>\n

Sir Kazuo was made a Companion of Honour for service to literature.<\/p>\n

The Order of the Companions of Honour was founded in 1917 by George V and is limited to 65 members at any one time. Those who have been appointed have made a longstanding contribution to arts, science, medicine, or government. <\/p>\n

The Japanese-born author, 70, who moved to the UK as a child, is known for Never Let Me Go and The Remains Of The Day, for which he won the Man Booker Prize.<\/p>\n
