It was Halloween Night<\/a> on Dancing With the Stars<\/a> last week, but Robert Irwin<\/a> experienced quite the scare during the show\u2019s latest episode.<\/p>\n

Irwin and his pro partner, Witney Carson<\/a>, turned in two memorable performances during the show\u2019s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night<\/a> on Tuesday, November 4. The duo joined forces with Alix Earle<\/a> and Valentin Chmerkovskiy<\/a>, Elaine Hendrix<\/a> and Alan Bersten<\/a>, Andy Richter<\/a> and Emma Slater<\/a>, and cohost Julianne Hough<\/a> for an energetic team dance to \u201cCelebration\u201d by Kool & The Gang<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was after the group dance that Irwin says he experienced a medical emergency. \u201cI almost died tonight,\u201d he shared in a post-episode interview with Entertainment Tonight<\/a>. \u201cI choked on a piece of confetti after the team dance. I went over to Witney, and I think they cut away, and I inhaled a piece of confetti. I couldn\u2019t breathe.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though Irwin sought help by motioning to Carson that he was unable to breathe, he ultimately coughed the piece of confetti out of his throat. Carson, for her part, told the outlet that she was unaware of her partner\u2019s scary situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t even know that was happening. I would\u2019ve been a shield, like this with the confetti,\u201d she shared while pretending to block confetti with her arms.<\/p>\n

Irwin, Carson, and the rest of the Team Kool members earned nine from judges Bruno Tonioli<\/a> and Carrie Ann Inaba<\/a> and 10s from Derek Hough<\/a> and guest judge Flavor Flav<\/a>. However, their scores were lower than those of their rival team, as Team Chicago scored all 10s for their team dance to Chicago<\/a>\u2018s \u201c25 or 6 to 4.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier in the episode, Irwin and Carson earned 38 out of 40 points for their powerful paso doble to \u201cIcky Thump\u201d by The White Stripes<\/a>. \u201cIt was so hard. It was the hardest week in rehearsal, honestly. The hardest week,\u201d Irwin told the outlet. \u201cBut I reached the turning point when Witney was like \u2014 \u2018cause I was struggling to get the moves, really struggling \u2014 and Witney just goes, \u2018You know what? Just get angry with it.\u2019 And I\u2019m like, \u2018I\u2019ve never been angry in my life.\u2019 But she said, \u2018No, it\u2019s okay. With the moves, just be like, you know what? These are my moves, and I\u2019m just gonna own it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Irwin even noted that doing the paso doble \u201cfelt like I was going in, about to catch a crocodile.\u201d He continued, \u201cIt\u2019s that pure respect for the craft, but channeled passion and energy. The amount of trust I feel for Witney is insane. I feel like this little team that we\u2019ve got together has never been stronger, and I\u2019m just so grateful that you trust me to take on a new challenge every week. It\u2019s a dream come true to find new sides to myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

With the group dance bonus points added in, Irwin and Carson ended the night in the middle of the leaderboard with 76\/80 points. Though the couple avoided elimination, Danielle Fishel<\/a> and Pasha Pashkov<\/a> became the latest Season 34 duo to be sent home<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Irwin and Carson will perform a Foxtrot to \u201cFootprints in the Sand\u201d by Leona Lewis during next week\u2019s 20th Birthday Party episode, which will see former host Tom Bergeron<\/a> return to the series as a guest judge<\/a>.<\/p>\n
