\n\tFinal Destination: Bloodlines filmmakers Zach Lipovsky<\/a> and Adam B. Stein<\/a> are one of the breakout success stories of 2025 after that film earned strong reviews and became the top grossing installment in the once dormant franchise.<\/p>\n

\n\tNearly six months after its release, the duo have zeroed in on a new project to direct, and are in talks to helm Long Lost, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe project is set up at Universal with Amblin Entertainment producing, based on the short story by Colin Bannon, who also penned the script. Sources have described the film as What Lies Beneath meets Rosemary\u2019s Baby, with the short story involving a woman whose husband\u2019s long-lost wife suddenly returns. <\/p>\n

\n\tUniversal landed the project in a bidding war in 2024, with producers including Steven Spielberg, Simon Kinberg, Audrey Chon and Scott Glassgold.<\/p>\n

\n\tLipovsky and Stein came up through the world of children\u2019s TV, before earning Hollywood attention thanks to their 2018 cult hit Freaks, which was their own take on the superhero genre. But Bloodlines transformed them into in-demand directors, with their pick of projects. Among them is a job writing the new Gremlins<\/a> movie along with Chris Columbus. That film is set up at Warner Bros., and has a just-announced release date of Nov. 19, 2027, with Columbus in the director\u2019s chair. <\/p>\n
