Julia Roberts<\/a> and her niece, fellow actress Emma Roberts<\/a>, reunited in a rare public appearance during the Veuve Clicquot and Simon Porte Jacquemus event at the Central Park Boathouse in New York City on Tuesday, Sept. 9.<\/p>\n

Julia and Emma posed together on the red carpet at the star-studded shindig, which also featured appearances from singer-songwriter Solange Knowles<\/a> and Canadian actress Charlotte Le Bon. The “Pretty Woman” star looked dapper in a black-and-white suit, while Emma rocked a flowy, semi-sheer frock.<\/p>\n

The Roberts women also took photos with Le Bon and French fashion designer Jacquemus at the event, which celebrated Jacquemus’ collaboration with champagne maker Veuve Clicquot.<\/p>\n

Julia and Emma Roberts last appeared together in April 2012 at the Hollywood premiere for Julia’s comedy “Jesus Henry Christ,” which the Oscar-winning actress coproduced with her sister, Lisa Roberts Gillan.<\/p>\n

How are Julia Roberts and Emma Roberts related?<\/p>\n

Emma’s father, actor Eric Roberts<\/a>, is Julia’s older brother. An Oscar-nominated action star, he has over 700 acting credits, including 1985’s “Runaway Train” and 2022’s “Babylon.”<\/a><\/p>\n

While Julia Roberts became a staple of 90s cinema thanks to her roles in now-iconic romantic comedies such as “Pretty Woman,” “My Best Friend’s Wedding” and “Notting Hill,” Emma Roberts broke out as a child star on the Nickelodeon sitcom “Unfabulous,” which ran from 2004 to 2007.<\/p>\n

The People’s Choice Awards-nominated actress, who grew up visiting Julia Roberts on set, went on to appear in the television series “Scream Queens” and “American Horror Story,” as well as the Marvel thriller “Madame Web.”<\/a><\/p>\n

In a July 2024 interview<\/a> with\u00a0Flaunt magazine, Emma Roberts criticized the\u00a0“nepo baby” label<\/a>, a term used to describe\u00a0children of celebrities who have\u00a0seemingly benefitted<\/a>\u00a0from their family’s industry connections. She also reflected on how her famous upbringing with Eric and Julia Roberts was sometimes a liability in her rise to fame.<\/p>\n
