CLAREMORE \u2013\u00a0On Will Rogers\u2019 birthday (Nov. 4), Yorkshire Publishing plans to release the book \u201cWill Rogers and His Great Inspiration,\u201d the final installment in Bart Taylor\u2019s award-winning children\u2019s picture book series honoring one of America\u2019s most beloved humorists and storytellers.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Illustrated by Greg White,\u00a0the new release follows \u201cWill Rogers and the Great White House Sleepover\u201d\u00a0and \u201cWill Rogers and His Great Presidential Pals,\u201d concluding a series that has brought Will Rogers\u2019 humor, wisdom and legacy to thousands of children.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In \u201cWill Rogers and His Great Inspiration,\u201d Taylor highlights the diverse people and experiences that shaped Rogers\u2019 life, helping young readers see themselves in history.<\/p>\n
Known as \u201cBuckaroo Bart\u201d to the countless students he reads to each year, Taylor is the Will Rogers Interpreter and Creative Curator at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum. His mission is to keep Rogers\u2019 story alive in a way that\u2019s fun and accessible.<\/p>\n
\u201cHow can we inspire kids if there aren\u2019t books made just for them about Will Rogers?\u201d Taylor said. \u201cThis series is my way of making sure young people know his story and understand that his lessons \u2014 about kindness, humor and perseverance \u2014 still matter today.\u201d<\/p>\n
Taylor is a Will Rogers Medallion Award recipient and two-time Oklahoma Museum Association Award-winning educator from Tulsa. In addition to his work at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum, he has served as an educator at the Gilcrease Museum, Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park and the Gathering Place in Tulsa, and has taught middle school geography. He currently resides in Claremore where he enjoys kayaking, playing guitar and sharing history in creative ways.<\/p>\n
