According to Selena Gomez, she and Benny Blanco found love at the perfect time.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Allure<\/a>, published on September 9, the Only Murders in the Building star, 32, opened up about her personal evolution prior to falling for Blanco, who she had known \u2014 and worked with \u2014 for years before the pair began dating in 2023<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think I would have been remotely mature enough,\u201d Gomez told the outlet when asked if she was glad sparks flew between her and the record producer, 36, when they did.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s weird to think that only five years ago I wouldn\u2019t have been in the right place, but I\u2019ve learned so many lessons [since then] that led me to being the best partner I could be for Benny,\u201d she shared. \u201cAnd I believe the same with him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gomez\u2019s tumultuous on-again, off-again relationship with Justin Bieber lasted from 2010 to 2018. The \u201cPeaches\u201d singer, 31, went on to marry Hailey Bieber, with whom he shares son Jack, 1.<\/p>\n

The Wizards of Waverly Place alum admits Blanco<\/a> \u2014 who produced her songs \u201cSame Old Love\u201d and \u201cSingle Soon\u201d \u2014 wishes they got together sooner.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019ll say, \u2018Gosh, why did we waste so much time?\u2019 And I always say, \u2018You wouldn\u2019t have liked me back then,’\u201d Gomez dished. \u201cI was all over the place.\u201d<\/p>\n

Still, the \u201cFetish\u201d singer acknowledges that her difficult past shaped her into being the ideal person for her fiance, who she describes as \u201cone of the most grounding people\u201d in her life.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve learned so many lessons [since then] that led me to being the best partner I could be for Benny,\u201d she shared. \u201cAnd I believe the same with him.\u201d<\/p>\n

The loved-up couple, who announced their engagement in December 2024, are reportedly set to wed sometime this month<\/a> \u2014 though guests won\u2019t know the location until the day of the event, per TMZ<\/a>.<\/p>\n
