Garda\u00ed are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which occurred sometime between 12 midnight and 2.20am on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe sole occupant of the car, a woman in her 80s, was pronounced deceased at the scene,\u201d a Garda spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
The Coroner was notified and the woman\u2019s body was removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick, where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.<\/p>\n
Fiann F\u00e1il Councillor for Nenagh, JP O\u2019Meara, said: \u201cEveryone in the parish and in the area of Toomevara is deeply shocked and saddened at her sudden passing.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy thoughts and prayers to everyone in her family and everyone affected by her bereavement.\u201d<\/p>\n
Labour Councillor for Nenagh Louise Morgan Walsh said: “It’s devastating news. My thoughts are with the family on their devastating loss.”<\/p>\n
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were traveling in the area between 12 midnight and 2.30am are asked to make this footage available to investigating Garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in Birdhill, a man was killed in a single-vehicle car crash on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
The sole occupant of the car, aged in his 40s, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident.<\/p>\n
