Katy Perry<\/a>\u2019s new single, \u201cBandaids,\u201d holds special meaning for the pop star.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you for the love on \u2018Bandaids.\u2019 TBH, I struggled for months with the idea of putting this song out,\u201d Perry, 41, wrote via Instagram<\/a> on Sunday, November 9. \u201cEven after all these years it can be scary to be vulnerable.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cHopefully, the lyrics of this song resonate with someone going through what I have been through and maybe they won\u2019t feel so alone and will find the strength to keep going like I have.\u201d<\/p>\n

Perry released \u201cBandaids\u201d<\/a> earlier this week.<\/p>\n

\u201cKaty and Orlando have split but are amicable,\u201d a source exclusively told Us at the time. \u201cIt\u2019s not contentious at the moment. Katy is, of course, upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Perry, who was previously married to Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012, and Bloom are now focused on coparenting their 4-year-old daughter Daisy Dove. (Bloom is also the father of son Flynn, 14, from a previous relationship.)<\/p>\n
