Ergonomic kitchens fitted with Fisher & Paykel<\/a> appliances feature in this eight-apartment<\/a> building in Auckland<\/a>, as shown in this video<\/a> produced by Dezeen for the luxury kitchen brand.<\/p>\n

Designed by local architecture studio Monk Mackenzie in collaboration with developer Artifact, Jervois Apartments sits on a ridgeline in the central Auckland suburb of Herne Bay.<\/p>\n

The kitchen features appliances by Fisher & Paykel<\/p>\n

“Three or four years ago this area was re-zoned under the Auckland Unitary Plan, which allows for taller buildings and more density,” said Monk Mackenzie<\/a> co-founder, Hamish Monk.<\/p>\n

“This building is one of the early adopters of that zone change.”<\/p>\n

Selected apartments feature kitchens<\/a> with premium appliances<\/a> by Fisher & Paykel set within dark-stained oak<\/a> cabinetry, slate<\/a> worktops and a marble<\/a> island.<\/p>\n

\"ApartmentArchitecture studio Monk Mackenzie designed an apartment building which features eight apartments, each with panoramic views<\/p>\n

The development provides eight residences, each with panoramic views to the Waitakere Ranges on one side and over Waitemata Harbour on the other.<\/p>\n

An undulating screen<\/a> made of perforated metal wraps the street elevation, filtering light while providing privacy.<\/p>\n

\"DetailThe apartment block features curved screens which provide privacy and shading<\/p>\n

Sophie Wylie, a trained architect and co-founder of Artifact<\/a> alongside Liam Wylie, organised the internal layout.<\/p>\n

Bedrooms and private areas occupy the southern side behind the screen, while social areas such as the kitchen and living room claim the northern side to capture the sun.<\/p>\n

Each residence includes a glass-walled internal courtyard that draws daylight into the centre of the plan and facilitates air circulation.<\/p>\n

\"PanoramicAll apartments offer panoramic views through large glazed windows and walls<\/p>\n

A winter garden on the southern facade has frameless glass doors that can be opened or closed depending on the weather, creating an external space usable all year-round.<\/p>\n

Interior designer Amelia Holmes planned the kitchen around the habits of older buyers, who are looking to downsize but still enjoy hosting guests regularly.<\/p>\n

\"OakThe oak wood and marble kitchen features Fisher & Paykel appliances<\/p>\n

An island bench defines the open-plan kitchen and living area, with one end configured as a bar that creates a natural space to gather and connects directly to the outdoor deck.<\/p>\n

“We didn’t want the appliances to have prominence,” said Sophie Wylie. “Fisher & Paykel products are minimal and clean, and worked well with the dark stain of the oak and the aesthetic we wanted.”<\/p>\n

\"OvenOven by Fisher & Paykel was fitted into an oak cabinet<\/p>\n

Fisher & Paykel wall-mounted ovens and two DishDrawer dishwashers flanking the sink eliminate the need for bending down.<\/p>\n

“If we were going to put ovens on walls, we wanted them to be very minimal and contemporary looking,” said Sophie Wylie. “That’s where the Fisher & Paykel ovens are so perfect \u2013 they offer a sophisticated glass front with minimal buttons or colour.”<\/p>\n

\"TopBenchtop was covered in natural slate and fitted with stainless steel sink<\/p>\n

A column fridge-freezer slots into vertical cabinetry alongside a wine cabinet, both positioned near a butler’s pantry that allows residents to cook and entertain simultaneously.<\/p>\n

Natural slate covers the benchtops for durability against heat and moisture while providing texture against the smooth appliance finishes.<\/p>\n

Vertical surfaces combine grey marble with timber cabinetry detailed with batten-style handles.<\/p>\n

A compact laundry sits off the main hallway. Graphite-coloured Fisher & Paykel washers and dryers are stacked vertically to maximise floor space while matching the kitchen’s material palette.<\/p>\n

Founded in 1934, Fisher & Paykel is a New Zealand luxury appliance brand known for creating kitchen products that seamlessly integrate into the home to complement the surrounding interior.<\/p>\n
