\n\tThe numbers are in. As Michael Jackson<\/a>\u2018s \u201cThriller\u201d jumps from Number 32 to Number 10 on the Billboard<\/a> Hot 100 following Halloween, the King of Pop has posthumously made chart history.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Monday, Jackson became the first artist to reach the Top 10 in six different decades including the \u201870s, \u201880s, \u201890s, 2000s, \u201810s and now \u201820s. \u201cThriller\u201d released in 1984 in the United States and, at the time, surged to Number Four.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs a solo artist, Jackson first reached the Hot 100\u2019s Top 10 with 1971\u2019s \u201cGot to Be There,\u201d and would go on to achieve 30 Top 10s \u2014 including 13 Number One hits \u2014 throughout his storied career thanks to blockbuster songs such as \u201cBeat It\u201d, \u201cBillie Jean,\u201d \u201cBad,\u201d \u201cMan in the Mirror,\u201d and more among his massive catalog. As Billboard highlighted, Jackson last rose to the Top 10 as a feature on Drake\u2019s 2018 track \u201cDon\u2019t Matter to Me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJackson surpassed Andy Williams, who died in 2012, and ranked in the Top 10 across five decades.<\/p>\n

\n\tNews of the Jackson\u2019s return to the Hot 100 arrives after the release of the first trailer<\/a> for\u00a0Antoine Fuqua<\/a>\u2019s biopic, Michael, which featured an oddly upbeat take on the singer\u2019s childhood, despite Jackson himself describing his time in the Jackson 5 as filled with physical abuse by his father and unhappiness.<\/p>\n

\n\tAlthough the film wrapped production in May 2024, the Jackson estate reportedly\u00a0discovered<\/a>\u00a0that the completed version violated a decades-old legal agreement with the family of Jordan Chandler, who accused Jackson of molesting him in 1993 when he was 13 and later received a $20 million settlement. Puck<\/a> reported that the original script focused on Chandler\u2019s case in its third act, breaching the agreement that stipulated Chandler\u2019s story and personhood could not be dramatized in film about Jackson.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe singer, who died in 2009 at the age of 50, was never convicted of any crimes relating to sex-related allegations, but was criminally prosecuted in 2005.<\/p>\n
