In a recent interview with GQ, the model and entrepreneur admitted she would never have sold the brand for anything less than $1 billion.<\/p>\n

Hailey Bieber reveals what it was like to sell Rhode for $1 billion<\/p>\n

Hailey Bieber<\/a> launched Rhode, a skincare brand, in 2022. The brand offered high-quality skincare products with minimal ingredients at accessible prices. The businesswoman was deeply involved in key business decisions and creative direction. Her hard work paid off, and Rhode grew famous quickly<\/a>, with many products like the Peptide Lip Treatment\/Tint selling out quickly. <\/p>\n

In an interview<\/a> with GQ, Bieber expressed her sentiments about selling her brand. Samuel Hine, the journalist, asked her about her reaction when she first learned that e.l.f. wants to acquire her brand for $1 billion. To this, the 28-year-old responded that she didn\u2019t \u201cplan\u201d to sell her skincare brand for any less than $1 billion. <\/p>\n

Speaking candidly with Hine, she said, \u201cI always said that I would never sell the company unless it was a billion dollars. I was just like, it\u2019s going to be this or I am not doing it. That was my goal.\u201d <\/p>\n

She further revealed that her goal wasn\u2019t entirely \u201cto sell the company.\u201d However, she said that she would \u201cdefinitely consider\u201d the offer if \u201cthe right opportunity came along and the right home for it came along.\u201d Speaking about e.l.f., Bieber said that the brand ticked \u201call the boxes\u201d she wanted to \u201ccheck to find a home\u201d for her brand. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut of course when you hear that it\u2019s a real thing and the number is real and that\u2019s a real situation being put in front of you, it\u2019s definitely like,\u00a0Whoa. Okay. It is very cool,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

In May 2025, Bieber sold Rhode to e.l.f. Beauty for $1 billion, and the deal was finalized in August.
